we went to a celtics game on friday and had some pretty decent seats! it was raining and windy on the way back to our car so dave carried the umbrella for us. after a few minutes i noticed i was getting soaked and looked up to see our umbrella completely inside out standing straight up in the air. i couldn't stop laughing for about a block and wished i was the couple behind us watching. we must have looked so ridiculous.

the rest of the weekend i went thrift shopping and found this really cute skirt for the shop, took a nap in the hammock, went to church, and spent some quality time with dave.

an adventure

we went to Goddard State Park this weekend, ate combos on the beach, and found the biggest swan's on earth. it was a really relaxing time and i had so much fun traipsing through the woods like a 7 year old.

the bugs were certainly out but so were all the buds on the flowers and trees. it was even warm and i didn't have to wear 15 coats and sweaters.

this is where we found the huge swans. dave and i got up really close. later we found out swan's are mean. good to know...

we went to waterfire on friday night, have you ever been there? it was a great way to spend the warm evening (70 degrees!) and we had some delicious cake at pastiche. i had their classic vanilla. i get it every time. dave got carrot cake and my grandmother got lime mousse pie or something like that.

before dave ordered he whispered, "it doesn't actually taste like carrots, right?" i assured him it didn't and, thankfully, he enjoyed every bite.

sea town inspiration

this weekend we went to wickford and narragansett RI. the weather was gorgeous and i wanted to run around in flip flops (until we got on the beach and i had to lay in the sun because i was so cold). we went to a lot of cute little shops and i found some beautiful antiques and very unique (trying to use a nice word) shops. let's just say shops entited "the herb house wyfe" aren't always the best choice. dave ended up pulling me out of a shop that i think was a cover for a witchcraft specialty store. yikes.

this is a hydrangea flower that they dried and mounted onto a nice art mat. it was $656. i think it was probably made for $50. it's a nice diy project if you are in the mood for some new artwork. they had ferns and leaves framed as well.

i thought this candle holder was cute. especially on an otherwise boring coffee table.

this was my favorite. its a cribbage board table that can used as a coffee or side table as well. isn't that a great idea? i thought it would cool to have this at a lake house or cabin.

i hope so. i had a wonderful time. we went tubing, shopping at the wrentham outlets, out to dinner at red stripe in providence (yum!), and dave got me tickets to see the blue man group in two weeks! i cant wait. we even got to hang out with my parents, watch the olympics, and i met dave's brother. now i am exhausted and still recovering from my stomach flu. but i am happy and so blessed.
