lets decorate!

I love finding inspiring decorating photos. I think I change my style every I see a new idea. Here are some lately I have found particularly invigorating.
(unfortunately I dont remember where I got these pictures from. I saved them a while ago)

comfortable, vintage, clean, beach

best ideas to decorate around...

as my brother would say, this wall paper is sweet!

I cant wait to use wallpaper when I get my own house (whenever that may be). I already have some antique hand painted wallpaper I found at an estate sale in yellow. My favorite!

an andy warhol outfit

This outfit was inspired by this picture of Andy Warhol. The print was in a small shop on Thayer Street that had alot of cool pictures of Warhol.

sheets in the sun

I made this dress the other day from an old sheet I bought at a vintage store. I figured I could wear it to the beach next week in Florida. I really liked the fabric but parts were faded so I flipped it all inside out. I think it came out pretty well.

I didn't have a pattern. I just looked at a dress I already have and based it from that. I think it would be cute with pants too.

I think I might get some new sandals for the trip. I'm just not sure which ones yet.

best antique stop yet

This weekend we went vintage hunting (ok I did, Joel tried to amuse himself in the smelly goodwill) and found some awesome stuff (check out store). This antique shop is going to become a regular stop. The owner, Christian, is awesome and has beautiful jewelry and furniture at really good prices. If you are in Western Mass, you should check him out.
This was my favorite necklace. Its now for sale.

pretty for a bedroom

sweet colorful fake fruit

I wanted this so bad. I just need a house to put it in.

hippies R us

I had an amazing Valentines Day. Joel had a huge box of roses sent to work. I was so excited! He took me out to dinner Friday night to a steakhouse on the Yarmouth boatyard in Maine. We spent the rest of the weekend at my grandmother's watching movies and going skiing. It was so fun! (I'll show pictures later) Now I am back to work and school. Not too fun, but at least its a short week.

I just got a vintage peasant shirt from a thrift store in Maine this weekend. I love it!

I was thinking about making a headband like this from urban outfitters to go with it.

I went into Forever 21 the other day and I couldn't believe how hippie-ish everythin was! There were long flowery dresses with faux fur vests. Time to pull out Almost Famous.

new things

I have a few new dresses going up on my etsy today. I really like the bridget dress.

This belt is for sale too. Here is a picture of me wearing it.

I'm also working on making some little shoe embellishments like my friend made from last week and some tulle florets for shirts. And speaking of florets...this skirt is so amazing.

I have about 12 of these belts and I am sure they will be going fast. They are a silk flower pin on either grosgrain, velvet, or satin ribbon with a vintage pin or earring. You can wear them in your hair, on a jacket, or as a belt.

hurray for presents!

(click picture to enlarge)
My friend Kate from work made me a fabulous present for Christmas. It is a feather hairpiece that can be clipped into your hair. You could probably even clip it on a shirt or jacket pocket. They are made with beautiful pheasant, peacock, and down feathers with vintage pins or earrings.

Mine had a peach cameo similar to this one with brown speckled feathers and peach feathers.

I bought this one from Kate for my cousin. It looks like Betsey Johnson!

This is what it looks like in your hair. (This ones mine!)

She will most likely be setting up an etsy store but they are being bought quickly (by people around the office) because they are beautiful. If you are interested, email her at kcarrabba@natcohome.com and hurry!
